Mysore style
It's the way this practice is called. Every student executes a series of poses (asanas) on his own. During these poses, he is getting tailored adjustments and variations, when it is needed, according to his level and abilities. The teacher’s guidance is very important for the practitioner in order to have a proper development in his practice. Thus, he can consciously improve his focus and respiration rhythm, undistracted by his surroundings.

Led class
Once every week there is a led class, where the practitioners, as a whole, follow the teacher’s command, at his counting, and execute the asanas simultaneously. If you have never tried Ashtanga, it is advised not to start with a led class. Very soon you will be able to attend this class, after having a short experience on the asanas. The led class will help you remember the sequence of the asanas as well as the proper transition from one asana to another.
For the beginners, it provides the chance to look forward on asanas to come, but they should keep in mind that asanas are “given” by the teacher. In general, a practitioner is considered to be ready to move to the next asana, if he is able to perform it smoothly and remain focused.
