Mysore style

Mysore style is the traditional ashtanga practice. The name is taken by the hometown of the Jois family. It resembles a private class, because the teacher guides each one individually. In a Mysore class you can see every student execute a certain series of poses (asanas) on his own pace of breath. Regular attendance, next to experienced and well trained teachers, provides a safe environment, so that every practitioner can discover his true physical and mental potential.

Led class

Once every week there is a led class, with sanskrit counting. There the practitioners, as a whole, follow the teacher’s command, at his counting, and execute the asanas simultaneously. Very soon you will be able to attend this class, after having a short experience on the asanas. The led class will help you remember the sequence of the asanas as well as the proper transition from one asana to another.
For beginners, it provides the chance to look forward on asanas to come, but they should keep in mind that asanas are “given” by the teacher. In general, a practitioner is considered to be ready to move to the next asana, if he is able to perform it smoothly and remain focused.

Self practice

Every Friday we invite you to practice together. No guidance and no adjustments. This way everyone has the chance to have a 6 day practice.

New Moon - Full Moon

The shala will remain closed during full moon and new moon days, following the tradition that wants these days, along with Sundays, to be rest days.
